An intimate conversation with Chief International correspondent for CNN, award-winning journalist Clarissa Ward. Clarissa has reported from front lines in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Georgia and Ukraine, gaining a unique insight on enemy lines. Her 2016 Undercover in Syria series has been recognized with a Peabody Award, and she was asked to address a UN Security Council meeting on the embattled city of Aleppo in August 2016, stating "There are no winners in Aleppo." She is also one of the very rare women journalists who has interviewed the Taliban in Afghanistan. This dinner will be an opportunity to discuss her experience of engaging with both parties but also draws on on how we can build empathy, understanding and appreciate the complexity of conflict situations, and what peace could look like in Syria or in Afghanistan.
