Artists reflect on the past, present and future. An artwork can help us face and address some otherwise unbearable emotions or events. Supporting artistic production and exchange is important as art contributes to building greater understanding, empathy and resilience in society. This is why we have selected culture+conflict, which helps artists in a context of conflict. We also believe that promoting the work of under-represented arts organisations operating in a sometimes challenging context, such as the EPA (Ecole du Patrimoine Africain) in Benin, is part of that mission.
